Like seriously just changing that girls personality and motivation like this is super unnecessary its just so different from the novel. In the novel she's just a selfish prick who even tries to have irene raped so that she cant marry anyone because a noble lady that had sex ouside of being married is unable to get married because no one wants her and the king dosent accept her as future queen because where irene has trained to be queen all her life that hoe did not and cant do jack shit so no one agrees of there marrige but if the prince toke irene as a consort then she could do the work and people where nore likely to agree to the marriage because the political aspect would be saved
