Colleagues can ruin your life

People don't know how common is this, that is why I learned in my last job to ask people send me an email when they ask help or a favor, I never delete any email, I document everything and never sign anything without reading, I also send my reports to my supervisor and boss in same time I send it to the responsable person!!!

I learned that after the person responsible of the reports deleted the job I did and pit it in her reports, thank God my supervisor is also my friend and after some months asked me why I was the one doing less work than other people... we discovered the reason, and since I began to send the reports also to my boss, the responsible began to have problems with her computer deleting her reports!!!

Also, a colleague asked me a One-time favor because it was urgent and I used to take his Account at 4 pm when he went home... normally I only had to do the basic, in other words, I didn't touch any email nor do any permanent change... this favor was doing a permanent change requested by email.

I did the favor and contacted my supervisor and the Account supervidor with an email with screenshots of the changes, after that I sent the same email to my colleague. A month later the supervisor of the Account sent an email complaining that he keeps asking changes and my colleague never do them, in the email appears the changes he requested and were not done and none of the changes were the one I did, my colleague began to say it was my fault, that he asked me to do the changes and I never did, etc... thank God I sent the emails and saved the ones with the changes I had to do because I had to defend myself several times after this, he tried several times to make me responsible of the errors he did, I told my supervisor that his request was a one-time request, so I was not responsible of any change request after that one-time request... my supervisor defended me and I avoided problems!!!

So, please, ALWAYS save all documentations of what you do, ask your colleagues send their request by email in order to have a writen proof and mever sign anything without reading or checking!!!

For real though, some people have no problems throwing you under the bus or taking credit for your work.

Putting sb else’s blame on me happened many times in my previous job, but no proof helped me - the person responsible was a chief’s favorite... and she had a group of friends who tried to make me isolated. I resigned finally and am starting a new job next month... I hope it will be better there.
I could never understood that behavior :( When I screw up, I always admit it truthfully. I really wonder what people who blame others think; do they have no remorse?... :(
