If hes changed then hes changed and if his partner is the one who has an issue with trusting him now, then that's on him. But he shouldn't be hypocritical about affairs when he was caught in an affair with another mans wife, even if that man cares nothing for his wife, you don't covet your neighbor's wife.
Except others have noted that he hasn't been going to the pub and even he, himself, said that he didn't feel like cheating and didn't know why (he was caught up in love, too). His ex is shocked at this revelation and thought it was jokes until he mentioned in the extra that they've been "playing lovers" for a long while.
