I think MC guy blames himself for what happened. Like it was a love rival for MC's affections or something. Either way, the victim was connected to both of them and MC believes the murder happened because of him.

Tan guy seems very unstable mentally to the point I feel like he hurt the other guy, which is why he is all shaky and uneasy. I refuse to give tan guy a chance...gut feeling says he is very violent and jealous....make it sound like he just got out of prison or a rehab....so yeah uneasy about him.
