Eugene was still stupid for being tricked like that. Wish MC will still be paired to another man like the priest.

Well I read this part of the novel. The seeds are genuine and will sprout according to the magic power of each participant, the ones that do not have enough magic will not sprout, this helps to eliminate several competitors, including the girl Haumond. Lize will try to help her but can't, because the girl doesn't have enough power. Well at this point the girl gives Lize the real ring Eugene left, and tells Lize the true story.
