I feel like one of the main reasons we have so many chapters of the side couple right now is because the main couple isn't talking right now. There is nothing going on. So to show time is still going on without just showing chapter after chapter of the mains going about their daily life doing nothing of importance we get the side characters. It shows that time still goes on regardless of what's happening in your life. Hopefully it shall have more overlap with the main. I don't hate it though.
