How pretentious. I don't understand why you would something so spectacular and unique from this when it's obvious just from the description alone it's going to be a cliché cat and mouse chase romance. The only thing I agree with you is that the mating bond/contract was completely useless and accidental, and this didn't have to be an omegaverse to continue with the plot. But even your anger to the author and to the story's universe is very unnecessary. Creators are free to modify universe elements to their liking, especially when this is just fiction.

People expressed their opinion it was cute but you think their own opinion is wrong. I hate using this to defend myself but never in my reply stated that I found their relationship healthy and balanced. But the point is, why would you expect an equal and balanced relationship from something that started out from lust and fling in the first place? You weren't supposed to witness a balanced relationship, but one that is trying to work things out. You said it yourself that this was a cliché, and I didn't deny that. And so, I won't disagree that their relationship was unbalanced and unfair. But I don't think it's something to get angry over/fuss over because it should have been expected, given the description AND how their relationship started from sex between a pure salaryman and a proud gigolo.
From my perspective, it's a cat and mouse. The alpha may have been passive throughout the story but he wemt to the shop everyday in the beginning and sent the omega messages, and even when they fought and the omega insulted him and he stopped sending him messages, the alpha was still nearby stalking him. And the alpha tried his best to spend time with Hikari and woo him in his own quiet way. He didn't need to be aggressive in his ways to chase and he was still able to give Hikari his personal freedom and respect his wishes.
Ah fuck, i thought I was still talking to op. Anyway, you might not be the one who said this was a cliché but everything I said still stands and I didn't deny that this was a cliché omegaverse yaoi (even in non-omegaverse yaoi, this si still cliché) and their relationship isn't the best or ideal. But that's part of the cliché plot for the story between the two people to start.
The thing is omega didn't want to to communicate and work things out. He didn't talk with Alpha he rejected any attempt of conversation.
But they WERE in relationship. How it started doesn't give anyone right to treat your partner like shit. And he acted like petulant child. Who didn't give a flying fuck about his partner's feelings. He changed. Yeah congratz but it doesn't change the fact that he was toxic AF.
It wasn't about respecting wishes. Their relationship didn't have limits. There was no place for compromises nothing. Alpha HAD TO agree to everything if he wanted to be with uke.
Just so you know, I didn't expect it to be unique and I'm not disappointed by this manga. I just stated the fact, because I honestly don't see a point of creating copy-paste stories based on the same premise. There is always a reluctant, tsundere omega and loyal, understanding alpha. I'm not "angry" because I thought this manga will be one of a kind. It's boring that one author thinks of something "novel" and others just modify it a bit and create better or worse clone of the same story. I try to be more original than that when I'm writing for my friends without publishing. By the way, I understand modifying universe but in that case it was only a cheap plot devise. The author wanted omega to still sleep with clients and it was a sole reason for changing the rule. Quite conventional way to create a drama.
What's so cute about this manga? Omega used a sweet, caring alpha like a disposable sex toy. His bratty attitude made alpha suffer a lot and their relationship was so unequal that it was hard to look at. The plot again follows a cliché of omega selling his body and there are at least eight similar stories on mangago only. The only new thing in this manga is omega being able to have sex with others after mating. In other words mangaka has changed a basic rule of omegaverse just to make omega keep his work after mating, which doesn't make any sense. What is next? Beta having heat because it fits an author's idea? People are scared to write what they honestly think about this manga, but the low rating says everything we need to know.
