Jayce is the one who insists they're best friends, aiden only called him a friend. its obviously not the first time jayce has done something like that too AND he had zero remorse. its not aidens responsibility to work things out because he didnt do anything wrong.
whats the point of staying in a toxic relationship like that? blind loyalty? its the smart thing to cut him off and its honestly so refreshing seeing a protagonist not be completely naive and realise this.
