But thank you for the info, wouldn’t have known about Apollo’s situation if I haven’t read. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a lover who’s has eyes only for you, but I think a lot of people forget about the thin line between complete devotion vs being obsessive. ESP in this day in age when most young people have to fight to find a devoted partner since causal relationships are in the rise (no shade to anyone who partakes in one!! but I would prefer to have 1 partner)

Talking about devoted relationships and casual relations... I think there's an image of people (specifically young people) who aren't ready to settle down. So, they explore while they can, before or if they commit to one person. Is there a fear of rejection or being hurt? Sometimes, people don't put their all because if anything goes wrong, it can be harder to move on, compared to a casual relationship with no expectations of sincerity :/ I think it takes courage to pursue someone and even say "I love you" first, which Apollo embodies. Maybe if you're open and ready to love, then you can be clear about wanting commitment and you can see it happen if the other person feels the same way. Otherwise, it could be a cycle if you're constantly in casual relations. So, I think although Apollo's marriage is over, I get the feeling that he doesn't regret their relationship either. He did his best, and now he's adapting to life without her. (We'll see Apollo's devotion once he falls in love with Phi (●'◡'●)ﾉ )
We found out from the extra chapter that Phi is 26, and Apollo notes that Phi is eight years younger, which means Apollo is 34. We also saw Apollo casually mention that Douglas was flirtatious in college, but there are no mentions of Apollo being flirtatious during those days. I think it's Apollo's nature to be devoted to whoever or whatever he sets his eyes on. I like that trait of Apollo's. We see that being a foreplay man isn't a job suited for Apollo (he's so quiet and he doesn't kiss Phi lol), but Apollo still tries his best. To me, he's someone who puts his all with whatever situation he's committed to. So, it's unlikely that Apollo would change his mind and quit his foreplay job, to return to his wife and stay married to her, just so he wouldn't have a criminal record and would not pay the hospital bills and compensation for beating her man. He's true to himself :)
Now that we're talking about this... Apollo is genuine. He's pure. He doesn't seem like someone who likes to play with people's feelings. And I think that's one factor as to why he doesn't flower the birds with praises like his colleagues do lol. Instead of saying words like, "If it were me, I'd totally satisfy you, but unfortunately, I can't, so find a customer who can pleasure you, okay?" Apollo bluntly just says no lol. Although, it was an improvement when Apollo asked Phi, "Why are you so persistent in trying to get me to sleep with you? Why are you so hung up on it?", and after Phi replied that he's confident in his sexual techniques and he was annoyed about being rejected without even being given a chance, Apollo just said, "... Another time, okay?" We don't know if that time would come, but overall...you just can't bring yourself to be mad because you just feel like he's being honest.
Damn... Apollo is my type of guy ;--------; Sometimes, people say "good guys are hard to find," but I don't think so. They could be right beside us, but we don't notice it. I don't know why Apollo's wife cheated on him, but we could see that her opportunities with this man are over :/ Maybe that's good for the readers, because Apollo wouldn't have come to the island otherwise lol!

Totally agree with you! I am all for people expressing themselves, hell if you want to be in a relationship with 40 people and it makes you happy af, what does my opinion matter. I love that people are no longer under the impression that they have to settle down early, they have to be married by this time, etc. But again, there are those who still live by the book and that’s okay too.
To me Apollo is sort of perfect lol, like I said before I would love a devoted partner! It’s an insecurity of mine that I am not ashamed to have. Again we are in the age of causal relationships AND the age where cheating/having multiple partners is cool/good/okay. Sometimes these things happen without being exclusively mentioned and that’s how people get hurt. It’s a fear for me to fall for a partner just to have them betray me in the end. I don’t think Apollo had that fear, as it was said, he’d rather give the love than receive it! And I think those are the people that get hurt the most unfortunately. Too mangas where both the men Ana women walk out because they don’t feel loved enough or the were loved too much...whatever that meant lol. Enough ranting on my part lol. I am DEFINITELY looking forward to Apollo falling HARD and watching him change (▰˘◡˘▰). I know Zariya will make me want an Apollo or my own after they get all lovey-dovey. I'm more on the one-devoted-partner side too haha! I'm busy living my own life, and I think there is just so much effort that could go into meeting people, like your friends, let alone manage your time meeting various people casually. I think more than one person would be too much for me to handle, when I don't always devote time for myself lol. Heck, I notice that it's like I'm running against a clock, especially when it's a busy time of the year. :P So, for me, I just think it would be easier to have one partner than to think of various people and manage my time among them.
I'm also not someone who thinks you need to get married and have children by a certain time. I was out eating with an acquaintance/classmate once, and she got married in the summer; she's 24, turning 25 this year. She told me she wants to become parent before she's in her 30s because she wants to be in her child's life longer. She addressed that when you're in your 30s, you have less energy to play with kids too. So, she values creating a family, not pursuing further education immediately or travelling and spending alone time with her husband. I see where she's coming from, but I don't personally share those views.
I'm open to exploring life and living in the moment, even if it means marriage and parenthood comes later. I think if I were to get married and have children in my 20s, then I can't easily take breaks from work whenever I want to because I don't have seniority yet. Then, once there is seniority or more experience in my 30s and I want to hang out with my kids, they'll be around 15 and that's puberty where they typically want to have some time alone; I might not be very close with my children, especially if I spend my 20s working a lot to pay the bills. I don't see the harm in getting married later and having kids in your 30s to 40s, where you likely fulfilled your dreams education-wise and career-wise, and you might be able to afford to take some more time off to hang out with your kids. So, I prioritize quality over quantity. I've seen situations where people settle down while they're young, but that what-if in terms of their education, job, or even travelling looms over their head, and they might not get a chance later. :/
Everyone has their own path in life. I think it's important to do what you want and follow your heart. Ideally, don't have regrets :)

(How Sweet is a Sugar Daddy? is one of them xD) If you know this person first, like if you were friends before you start dating, then that fear of getting hurt may not be there (as much)?

No you definitely did lol, I really do forget that you can actually follow people on here (⊙…⊙ ) well being find our Apollo’s and then it’s a WRAP! I wouldn’t say I’m patiently waiting, but I’m definitely waiting! How sweet is a sugar daddy was not one of my faves, some of these stories start off good- okay they have really ahem...nice “love” scenes lol. But the story lines are just not my cup of tea. Sadly there are a lot of bl that I feel are like that.

This might sound weird, but stories like Shangri La no Tori doesn't make me motivated to fall in love in a normal(?) way LOL. I don't mean that I'll go to a brothel (actually...I don't know if they still exist (⊙…⊙ )) or seek someone who does sex work, to find love. I just think there's so much beauty to living your life, and falling in love unexpectedly :) Where it happens on its own agenda, and you gradually get to know someone... I think it could be so easy to judge others based on their backgrounds, but when we see people for who they are; we respect each other, we validate each other, we appreciate each other... A genuine human connection <3
I think of Apollo who's in the process of divorcing his wife and earning money as a foreplay man, to pay for her lover's hospital and compensation bills. I wrote threads on How Sweet is a Sugar Daddy? too, since that story gave me a roller coaster of emotions - it showed me various perspectives and vulnerability; following your heart even when you're in an unconventional situation. Some Lezhin comics particularly did not have good endings last year; their company drama in how they treated the artists was a big factor to that :/

So... chapters 3-5, including volume one extra, made me feel warm. I had a tough week, since I'm not feeling too well physically and I've been anxious, but these releases helped cheer me up! :))
I like seeing the sense of comfort that is building up between Apollo and Phi. It was so genuine when Apollo wondered if Phi was okay, and our foreplay man even waited outside Phi's room until the lights turned off! Apollo feeling regret about leaving Phi's room may have us see more moments of Apollo being nurturing, not just as a foreplay man to Phi, but as a person too :))
I appreciate that Phi is okay with Apollo going at his own pace. Other birds might complain about Apollo's "bare minimum" treatment (Apollo even refused to kiss Phi! xD) but Phi has been very patient.
I like that the foreplay men take care of the birds outside of the bedroom too. The foreplay men could literally go back to the brothel first, without the birds, but choosing to escort the birds home made me feel warm. It gave me a feeling that the birds are cared for as people. And we could see that from the boss when he took Phi's side after fighting with the client; the boss truly values his birds over disrespectful customers.
I look forward to seeing Apollo fall in love with Phi! Apollo's distant with Phi because he's the type to only make love with the person he loves x)) It's sweet. I could tell Phi loves Apollo's affections, from moments like when Apollo reached out and held Phi's hand to go back to the brothel and when he patted Phi's head. Seeing the way Apollo is made me curious about what it's like to have a lover who ONLY has eyes for you. Some people may call that obsessive, while others may find that wonderful... (づ￣ ³￣)づ
I also find it interesting that Apollo's wife doesn't want to divorce him, despite having an affair that he walked in on. Maybe Apollo is very clear-cut in love? He'd rather be separated and have a criminal record (assault), than take his wife's offer to stay married, where she would ensure her man doesn't press charges on Apollo and her family would pay for all the hospital bills and compensation. I see that Apollo's saving money to deal with all this mess, but what is he planning after that's all done? How long will he work as a foreplay man on the island? (The island seems like a nice way to get away from all that stress, so I want him to stay as long as he needs to x))
