Uke is the bottom: the one that receives the Seme's p*nis in his a-hole. Seme is the top: the one that put's his p*nis in the Uke's hole.
Sorry for being blunt. Hopefully it helps.

my fav is seke, it's when u add seme to uke and se+ke gets u a seke, they r a couple that to switch bed roles, a term that u might get as well is bara, it's a bit not explained to me yet, some say it's a manga written by gays to gay readers and others say that it's a manga where the main characters r in a sexual relationship and they r both very masculine men, u'll also read sekehara, which is also made by adding sexual+harassment , u see, since manga industury puts lotsa rules to making a manga, as in if u want to make a shojo manga u can't add anything overly sexual or sexual at all, and on an on of rules, of course those rules vary from a genre to anther, yet yaoi/bara has no rules ,u can include cannibalism if u wish into the plot and it's okey! and since there r such rules, one way a mangaka find to portray the japanese sexual harassment problem with the high rates of sexual assult crimes is to make a yaoi manga with sekehara themes in it, now this leads us to a very thin line, the line is, some yaoi mangas have a plot with someone is sexually assaulted by their-future-to-be-boyfriend ,and such is not a real thing that happens in japan so why would a writer add such element? this is were u'd have to know a term that is not very clear or talked about at all, dame* is a japanese word that means something between yes but don't (add a verb here), something like asking ur mom to give u the car's keys and she says dame, u will know that it's fine to take them ,but take care, in such plots the one we think is being assaulted is saying dame, as in it's okey to fuck but we're in japan where in reality u'd get so hated, looked at,bullied,in some cases your family will not *well let's say treat u as a family should do* if u were a bit different, so something like being in a same sex relationship is gonna ruin your life, is this assult? i don't know, lastly, when their is a clear assault scene , the character will use something like *nehai or a strong disagreement word for no...
    .
if there's any other work u want to know, ask me, i will gladly help... ^^

I don't think Yaoi and Yuri are just about Gays writing gay stories, as someone who is in love with another person of the same gender I believe its about feelings and love at whole. I just can't accept the idea of Sex between them -_- .. like it's okay if its yaoi but its not okay if it is smut '___' .. however, I don't see sex as a problem in girls love.

? yaoi is not about that, it's bara, they r different! yaoi is a word that means a story written by a female writer of men having sex for no reason and is read by females, ofc the meaning has changed over the years to what we expect and see in yaoi, just reread my comment carefully cuz i was talking about bara...
