His real dad died in a car accident when Chiaki was 5, it happened on the way home from the zoo with Chiaki.
but if your talking about the annoying step dad he went to jail (i think... they were talking about court... so I guess that's what happened)
Amazing. Its so deep and has so many complications but its so sweet at the end. I wonder what happened to Chiaki's father though...
