I think he has a heightened sense of hearing. I may be wrong, completely. But it’s possible that he has stronger senses due to adrenaline?? Like maybe he’s had issues in the past so he’s always on guard, listening to everything, noticing everything. I can only defend it by pointing out that he stops panicking when he touches her, and she seems to have a calming effect on him even though he’s been said to have ptsd from fighting.
Like a therapy dog.. haha our fL is a therapy dog~~ (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ But I know something they can do that would be ten times more therapeutic and both leads would love.

I think he hears things that urges him to kill people and get his hands bloodied (hence why he needs sedatives), based on the way I understand it, her touch silences those sounds.
His sense of hearing is so good, too good, that he could hear a person's blood flow. Everything was so loud and noisy that it drives him crazy, makes him always irritated. He can only find peace once he eliminated the sources of those noise, humans. As long as someone were near him, the noise would not go away.
However, once she held his hand, the noise disappeared like when you are in a noisy place, a club?, when the noise was blowing your ears out, but suddenly, the noise was turned off, and everything became dead silence. That's what he meant when he said he could not hear anything. :)
