The author made her character an absolute asshole so that people would get mad at him I guess? I mean I'm pretty sure that's where her work's worth lies and she can call it a success because she was able to draw out emotions from the readers through her characters? People aren't supposed to react robotic or emotionless toward all sort of characters no? Readers are mad at the seme cause that's how she wrote him and damn she succeeded well. It's not like people doesn't know the seme's an asshole. Nobody's asking "how come he's an asshole I thought he was a nice guy!" but "he's an asshole and we hate him". There's a difference.

However, at least for me, when someone understands the character, he/she would react:
"Damn, he's so horrible. I'm excited to see more of him."
But SOME people have this kind of reaction (I copied some comments):
"I hate the seme so much! Don't want to ship him with the uke! Putting love in this unhealthy relationship would not really be credible, we don't fall in love with a rapist."
"Lol, love is nowhere to be found between them. Rape "
And some comments got many down votes because they're liking the seme.
It stirred up our emotion, cool. But it should be just for that moment. When readers become so upset/angry and complain about the character/plot, some of them even trying to compare it with real life situation and wishing the author to change the plot/character so that it will have some kinda moral of the story, I think that's when the readers don't really understand the novel/manga that they read.
Well, that's just how I see it.

I also really like your comment. You also made a very good point. There are some characters that are meant to be hated. Although it's a but early to truly say for this one for me. Cause we don't know what to expect. But some comments are a but too much. This is from other works that I've read and I won't copy any comments, but some people go sjw mode and judge the "bad" character, which is fine, but then judge other people for liking the character or the manga. This is fiction, just because people are okay with reading works of fiction with rape doesn't mean they're okay with rape. I seem to have gotten way off your point, but I just wanted to get that out there.

Let's just wait for the plot and character development.
I have a strong feeling that the author will make the seme kinda exploring about his feeling but he will still has the same crazy mindset.
It'll be so interesting to see that kind of character, but well, let's just wait and see
