Just asking

yushie December 28, 2019 2:13 pm

I've watched the series and the donghua...
In the novel, it said that WWX lost his calmness that causes WN to turn to fierce but in donghua or series JGY controlled WN

Do I remember it wrong? Or the author changed the plot?

They’re all a little different in some ways. But it is true that JGY controlled WN at the time when WN killed Jin Ling’s Dad in the drama. I haven’t watch the anime, and just finished reading the donghua. And is still trying to read the novel. I think they switched it up a bit though the plot is still attached.

I've read and watched every adaptation of MDZS (I just have to finish the audio drama), and I came up with the same thought.
As you said, if I remember well, WWX lost his calmness in the original novel, and that lead to JZX's death.

I personally think that the donghua and the drama are destined to be watched by a more important audience than the novel, and the producers wanted WWX to appear nicer so that everyone can understand him. They didn't want to make him the culprit for JL's parents deaths, so they chosed to blame the villain who is supposed to be exposed several years later.

Despite this, WWX is originally a more complex character, and has to live with the thought that he lost the control of his powers (just as LWJ predicted) and killed some people he liked and wanted to protect.

I hope I didn't make too many mistakes, as English is not my first language ( ̄∇ ̄")

I agree with you. And don’t worry, it was good. English is not my first language either haha (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

English also not my first language ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

I agree with you all that maybe they change it to make WWX looks better since he was a good character with a sad past (the production maybe don't want him to look sadder)

Why did I ask this? Because I read the latest chapter of MDZS (111), and it makes me wonder, is the author makes a change (a little bit change of plot) after she knows that this novel going to be a series and donghua?

This question stuck in my head since I watched both versions, and after I read the manhua this question pop-out again( ̄∇ ̄")

I think the author didn't make the changes herself. The donghua and drama producers wrote the storylines with some changes, and the only thing MXTX did was to approve (or not) the plot. She maybe adjusted some details if the story really tend to go somewhere she didn't want to.

The only modifications she did were realized before she knew about the donghua adaptation. These changes are not really significant and just fill some plotholes she made in the very first version of the novel.

All the changes that were made in the donghua and the other adaptations were carried out because of Chinese censorship. They do not represent the will of the author to change the storyline. The only version that represents what the author wanted to show is the novel, because she could write it freely.

I hope I could answer your question
