That is why he came back, but now there is a new research team in the same city. That was why his colleague was there to invite him back. So he could still take care of his mother if he was a reasearcher there.
Personally I have no objection how they got together and how they love each other BUT it buggs me, that he didn't change his job. I mean it was his dream to be a researcher, he got the opportunity and it would be beneficial for the relationship. I mean an adult and a JK is already problematic, but the homeroom teacher and a JK is even worse. Even if they wouldn't see each other each day, he at least wouldn't be her teacher anymore. So she wouldn't need to transfer and he wouldn't lose his job even IF they would get busted. So why did he not change his job back to being a researcher???
