I don't know. I understand that Chase is young but he reminds me of James Charles and Nikita Dragun. Chase was always manipulating. It wasn't as if Joel developed feelings for Chase organically. Chase manipulated situations in his favor. He threatened Jesse every chance he had under the guise of being Joel's watchdog. You can't just seduce, play with emotions and manufacture feelings. Chase was never naive nor innocent. He never bothered to ask why Jesse was so against him being with Joel. He only cared about his own despite Andy stepping in and bluntly telling him off not to flaunt it openly in public especially in front of Jesse. I always felt iffy towards Chase. He is very cunning.

I can't really grasp what happened to this story. Why did it happen?
The beginning was really promising. It was genuinely funny, characters likeable. The art isn't the best (rather mediocre) and I always pay attention to art but still this story picked my interest.
But unfortunately suddenly the author dropped main couple completely (they finally started to get some real development) and replaced them with REALLY problematic one.
Firstly the teacher is bashed for having relationship with his students (there were more issues of course than age difference, like the fact that he was their teacher for fuck sake or how badly he treated them or molested even the unwilling ones but still) then father of one of the main characters is shipped with young guy who is the same age as his own son.
What's more I don't really understand what author tried to achieve by making Joel less and less appealing with every chapter. He stopped being complicated character long time ago, now he is just unlikeable. The way he acted in the past and how he isn't changing for the better... The fact that he is acting as oblivious child while being nearly 40 years old.
I would be really impressed if he didn't end up with Chase (who is also problematic guy, the way he manipulated Joel, his over touching behaviours also wasn't ok but at least he is still young guy in HS) but we all know how it's gonna go.
I'm just disappointed. It could be a really good story.
