So i think Shah Jahan actually favoured Dara Shikoh (his brother) and Aurangzev was known to have killed his brothers to ascend to the throne. Their mother, Mumtaj mahal has 14 children and on the last childbirth, she died. That's how Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of her.
