don't get me wrong, I really enjoy this manga for what it is - a cheesy romance, but I can't help but think that in the later chapters

*spoiler* (if anyone cares)

that Sora totally over-stepped some boundaries?? Like, she told Iori that he doesn't understand his own mother, who he's known for years (no matter how estranged)?? She only met the woman on two separate occasions by that point, and she yells at her boyfriend because he's not handling his own issues the way she wants him to? It's one thing to want him to open up and rely on her, but it's another to get mad at him for calling her out on the fact that she doesn't know jack shit about his mom and their situation.

^to add something that I forgot to add

    *another spoiler*

it turns out, conveniently, that Sora was right the whole time about their situation. Honestly, the whole "love interest steps in and fixes years of family trauma in a magically short amount of time" trope is so tired and boring. Sometimes shitty parents are just shitty parents. One instance of Iori's mom being a decent person doesn't erase the fact that she wasn't there for her kids.

    *end spoilers*

All in all, again, I really enjoy this manga. For some reason, this part of the manga just hit home for me, and I just needed to rant.

Fucking amen. I agree she definitely overstepped. She essentially held their relationship hostage unless he agreed to sort things out with his mum. It all worked out in the end, but what if the mum was thoroughly bad and evil?

On another note, I still think the mum shouldn't have been forgiven so easily. Her defending her son doesn't erase all the years she wasn't present in her family's lives. Then when she does show up, she's aggressive and agitates them? She let's her kids misunderstand her rather than explain anything, such amazing parenting. /s I grew up with a similar parent so I'm biased because that shit fucked me up.
