I disagree. I think you just read a little part of it and made that conclusion. Haruna and Yoh is not shallow at all. You should read how Haruna handles the ex-gf and her reason for loving Yoh. If there's a shallow person it's Asami and she is the typical shoujo manga character. Oh, I hate Asami too
Those are really good stories. But I can't agree that this story = shallow girls meets shallow guys.
Excluding Asami neither of them are shallow they love each other fully with flaws and all. It's the beginning that you might have come up with this conclusion since Haruna wanted to be popular with guys and Yoh knew what guys liked. But really their personalities and all they've been there can not be classified as shallow.
THIS STORY = SHALLOW GIRLS MEETS SHALLLOW BOYS -_-
Those who want really good stories should try - Lovely Complex - Dengeki Daisy - Oresama Teacher - Kaichou wa Maid-Sama .
Or even better, shoujo who aren't " Romance " oriented .
