He's very different in the novel. He's an irresponsible person - especially as a parent! You do remember that bcos of him, Jonathan threw himself in danger and tried to get that flower, right? All to gain his attention, acknowledgement and appreciation! But he does change later. Pity he's not fully described in the manga, which misleads people into thinking he's better than Ryan for her, which is not true.
Yep this manga, as well as all manga stories under the category Harlequin are based on novels published by Harlequin Enterprises (a publishing company) under the category Harlequin Romance. It's hard to find most novels off which these mangas are based on as most of these stories are written decades ago.
IKR!! They just made a huge mess of a decent story and turned it into crap! I want to bawl my eyes out seeing how unfairly the lead characters are portrayed, exactly opposite actually. Here, we are shown that Ryan gets her into bed out of jealousy, but in the book, it's she who approaches him (who's sincerely and vehemently trying to hold back his desire for her) as she thinks over how they should not ignore their mutual desire and tries to give themselves a chance. She's a thoughtful and serious person, contrary to the "weak and stupid female" that harlequin "mangas" stubbornly portray! It's just a Japanese fad which favors weak shojo girls over strong and independent FLs (happy to see that the popularity of this fad is gradually decreasing). But people are under this mistaken impression that Harlequins are like that. Trust me, the original novels are much different, "most" of them with strong FLs who don't take shit from the ML, and their Japanese versions are so stupid, they are basically unbearable!!
Where ist the Story to that single Parent??????? His Story would Interesse me more??!!!!
