when minato was sitting all alone at the table and thanked the flower and said "he's coming over for you" it was so cute but also broke my heart like noooo baby he's coming over for YOU!!!
you can tell how deeply lonely and how he feels like he doesnt deserve love even from the smallest moments, but also how he tries hard to trust shizuma and not to pester him with his paranoia. i'm actually glad for a 2nd volume, it might seem like the author is just dragging out the same issues about insecurities and trust but i find it realistic. it shows that old habits and thought patterns are really hard to erase and it takes a lot of conscious effort from both sides to heal.
healing is a continuous journey, not something that can be solved by one dramatic declaration of love like most stories portray.
