No he didn't. I think u misunderstood the whole point of the story. He didn't start to seduce her until he found out that she is single. In fact he was trying to resist liking her cos she said she was married. Even then, he waited till she was comfortable enough to tell him the truth solely out of her own willingness. He didn't force her to admit she wasn't married and tried to force her to like him.
