The wings may be a symbol, for the element of her power. I don’t know why you guys are disappointed when almost all females in the story has no power and as for long time, she only managed to obtain and unleash her power through emotional means which usually happens throughout many movies.
If this is too slow for you, maybe you should consider dropping this? I mean, there are lot of mangas and Webtoon out there catering to your preferred elements. Don’t expect this to be cheesy perfect manga lol.
