It's extremely rare to find a completely unique plot line for anything anymore, but the key is taking cliches and twisting them to make them much less cliche-like and still use popular tropes woven into it.

You can't really judge it just from the first chap, but the idea in itself is good. A bit overused, but even the cliches can turn into masterpieces.
