I think that he wouldn't be able to help her at all. Likely wouldn't be able to stop them and would only be hurt severely. It would have been better to make noise, trick them about police or something, and scare them away and go get some help. Physically trying to stop them would likely go nowhere.

She only started treating him like that AFTER she was raped. And even if that hadn't been the case, it doesn't justify his actions at all. He could've called the police or something.

Secondly, there is a HUGE difference between "not being able to help AT ALL" and "physically not being able to help"

You said he couldn't help her "AT ALL" then listed 3 ways he could have helped. Do you see the discrepancies in your argument?
