Some time ago i watched the movie drowning love, in which Masaki Suda was starring (btw i really love how he acts and he is the reason why i watched the movie). Looking at how the movie ended i was confused but i didn't do anything about, then researching about the actor i again came upon the movie and remembered how in ended, so this time around i decided to deep dive and read this manga.
I literally have read it in less then 24 hours, i was drowned in the world created by the author of this manga, i consider myself really lucky because it has reached an end and especially for the end that it has reached. The whole process that brought them together in the end was full of emotions and situations that sometime made me laugh as well as made me cry. I am now writing my first comment ever to a manga that i have read, even having read many, but only after having calmed down a bit, i was crying *_*. I just wanted to share my opinion with a community that could understand a bit the travel that this manga made me go through. Now many of you could disagree with the way it ended saying that kou is toxic, or more over their relationship, i am sorry for otomo but i think that in his hearth he knew, but i think that this is the best fitted end for the story. I was cheering for them to be together the whole time, maybe not entirely. And the fact that they reunited after so many years has a meaning, this time they really put the past behind their back. Aaaaah i don't know but i really loved this. It was astonishing beautiful!

Hi, I also saw the movie, my reason was cause I was just searching for a good Japanese movie, and when I started watching it I thought "Oh it's gonna be fun, some cliche story" and then halfway through the movie goes through a flip and I'm left speechless...I feel like i need to read this manga to understand what is actually going on in the movie.

I'll be reading it later, hahah, I'm reading a lot of other mangas right now so I don't have the time but I've put it to the "I want to read" section!!! But I need to read it. I feel like the movie is very sad.

Yup, my thoughts precisely, I feel like the movie didn’t have all of the details that are needed for me to comprehend what actually went on :/

yall im 4 years late but just to add on to the conversation i decided to read the manga first but watched the intro of the movie beforehand. currently im stuck at the part were kou rapes her and blackmails her for sex im wondering if i should have done what some of you guys did cause i dont think i can stomach the current events of the story. It also switches up in terms of nastumes virginity so im not to sure if she a rape survivor in the sense that she was assaulted yet the man she loved the most kou inflicted that same type of violence so its like the thong that haunted her for years came back but this time catches up to her (assuming she was a virgin) or the things that haunts her meets her again (making her a second time survivor) which is actually worse in my opinion. Honestly the amount of anguish she feeling in that scene was enough to make me click away and look for spoilers. It feels like betrayal, it feels like rape and i was hoping it wasn't cause she was trying to find her brilliance again actually trying to be seen again and shine like how she used to.
