You can't just dismiss criticism by acting like people are being ungrateful for making that criticism. That's just stupid... As a published author, I can confirm that criticism is a necessary part of becoming a better writer and as long as the criticism is really criticism it can be a really positive thing. Please don't act like authors want a community where people shame others for not thinking that their work is god-tier. Don't blame defending the author for your overreaction.
