does anybody here know how to use HTML and XML?

Im trying to make a login system using HTML. the 'database' will be XML
Im new to XML so i dont understand much.
idk how to add and take files from XML.
also, im only using Notepad++ is this okay?
I dont know what exact code to use.

Hello, im an IT student (◍•ᴗ•◍) And i also had an activity to make a log in system. Not so sure if its xml though lmao. Its in a javafile extension. Do you want me to send it to you?
