I guess the author really didn't intend to make Sunako a ladylike because she is fine the way she is, just wanted her to realize her worth as a lady and Kyouhei made the biggest part in that realization but her friends' efforts are also commendable. I really like the part when Kyouhei said to Sunako that being lady doesn't mean throwing away what you really like, you can become one even with having such interest. And they oddly feel at ease with each other's company but they are both idiot and inexperience to even realize its beyond what it is. But I'm okay with them enjoying each others company than enter into a relationship because of peer pressure..
