Like I know the prince is an idiot and all, but he is acting that way out of guilt too. When Aira cried about not being able to go home the prince had a ba-thump moment! He shouldnt be coddling her. But it is the damsel in distress to his vague prince charming aura. Sei just needs to slap that prince and talk some sense into Aira. Maybe they meet when Sei is out on the subjugation!!
