senpai was little more than a stranger & he liked girls. Hikaru/Hikari was obsessed with him but didn't really know him. Senpai make a better friend than lover. Sensei was cruel but also king & more importantly, SUPPORTIVE. He didn't baby Hikaru, he called him by his real name Hikari, he confronted the mother, came to save the day, and overall pushed Hikaru to become stronger. The whole Shuu thing seemed like lingering feelings that needed closure & sensei knew it. Meeting again allowed him to move on from the person he once was to be able to be at ease with Hikaru.
