Somehow something doesn't feel right about the gender thing. I have a huge like, ball of perceptions, and messages coming at me all at once from in my head and in my my outer awareness telling me that this is a mess and it's going to get a lot worse. We just aren't ready for it.
I think radical shifts in how we as a world identify sexually is too much to accept all at once. I think our time is better spent solving far more serious problems than whether or not we should remember to call each other by a huge oppressive list of various pronouns. It might literally be more trouble than it's worth. People ignore the disturbing aspects. Sex is a powder keg that has always been kept inside its pandora box - probably for good reason. It's going to be seriously troublesome and estranging in and within the many generations nows walking the planet, more varied age groups than ever before, and each has its own set of cherished and inviolable sets of valued stuff.
What I honestly thought of that statement was the uke's self-denial, what he perceived as normal was only boy x girl. He liked men but denied being "gay" because then, he wouldn't be "normal".
Actually, all these gender identities, sexual orientation, and gender expression serve to provide visibility. I do agree that some people are being too much sometimes, making it more confusing for other people. However, it's on them for going about it in the wrong way. A lot of queer people differ in how they want to express and identify themselves. These pronouns and identities help them express their existence . Once we've arrived in a world where everyone's existence is recognized and is valid, where prejudice is non-existent, the goal in the future is to break these labels.
I'm sure you're right about the uke girl or boy thing.
I certainly hope you're right about the gender identity thing.

- I think that visibillity is such a quality thought that I think it exrpresses the hopes of a lot of people.

What infuriates me to the depths of my existence and makes me hope they all die painful deaths is that they're ignoring the one group of people who most needed, most deserved, and would have been most helped by these changes. To this day I don't see any I up there with that stinking LGBTQ. Because of that, I'm so sick of those stupid initials, lgbtq, that I wish they'd all go die of selfishness.
Today I told a neighbor, an older guy, that in today's world he could decide to be a girl, and everyone would have to call him "she" from then on, with the added benefit of getting to hang around in the women's toilet.
"Where did you get this stuff?" he said.
"Internet," I said.
"Perverts pretending to be girls ain't new," he said.
honestly? I hope this mixed-up gender identity stuff won''t be the future of yaoi.
