Yeah same but I think it's censored so that they can upload it on certain sites? The raws I mean.. so it's probably censored so those don't get taken down or something. And so that's why I think its censored. Ofcourse the ones uploading it here could like.. de-censor and draw the censored stuff themselves but that seems like a lot of work..

Yeah, it's not censored in the original but when people provide raws they post it somewhere most of the time and if it isn't censored I think it would get taken down. So, when it's not censored most of the time it's because they redrew it, or if they have raw providers in the group that get the manga straight to the translators. I may be wrong tho that just made sense to me ╮(￣▽￣)╭

why would someone providing raws to a group in the USA deface the original art for a country that doesn't have censorship?

I don't know, I think that the raws are sometimes posted publicly and not necissarily provided only to the group so they have to censor them? Also I don't think the translators are always from the US they just translate it to english? But that's honestly just my guess. I don't actually know why the raws are censored so much but to me that seemed like the most logical explenation? I have no idea if I'm right tho... (￣∇￣")

I don't think raws are posted first. I think that first they are sold in stores where they aren't raws but completed mangas. Before they hit the stores where they're sold, I know that due to laws in some countries, those works are censored by the authorities. Also, some artists self-censor, which is a pathetic comment on the way countries treat their artists, making them ruin the value of their work. Once the manga is in stores, someone buys the manga, takes it apart, scans it, and that's what is meant by "raws." These scanlations are exported to other countries to the translation group by the group's contact in Japan, or whatever country, where they are translated for public consumption into English etc. I've never heard of a scanlator or scanlation group censoring manga. It's done by the laws of the individual country.

a couple of years ago there was a law passed called The Child Protection Act. Around that time there was a crackdown on erotic manga. Ever since we get nothing but these horrendous light sabers in place of genitals. Before that, the censorship was horrible, but not as bad as it is now.

I also think people should boycott manga and manhwa that has been damaged by their stupid censors. If they stopped getting sales, it would send a message to the countries of origin that their stupid censorship laws are unacceptable

I guess I'd better cover this part, too. Some T-groups buy the originals, often the Tankoubons, online, and go from there.

However it's done, the t-groups and individuals never buy or receive works and censor them. They de-censor them sometimes, but these works aren't allowed to leave their country of origin until they are censored by that country's authorities

Oohh ok, thanks for informing me. I thought raws meant just like images from the manga that haven't been translated.. But I really don't get why they would censor the manga?? Like if you don't want to sell the non-censored version don't sell it at all?? It's just stupid if you want to censor it don't sell it. I mean the scenes are still those types of scenes! Even if you censor the dicks for the sake of... what? Because it's to graphic for kids or... ? If its because of that you're just making them think people have lightsaber dicks! ╮(￣▽￣)╭ My point is... why?? It's the artists work even if it is an erotic, graphic manga. They still shouldn't do itt!! Like the artist probably had to work hard to draw smexy pps for the common folk and now they censor it??? I demand justice!! LOL I agree with you so much. I feel lucky to live in the USA where we have freedom of expression for artists. The way things are, uncensored manga never get much past the artist's studio, and that's a real shame. Today, I can't even tell what's going on in these over-censored scenes because they are so damaged. I just wish there were enough decensorers here to restore them as soon as they hit our shores. Wouldn't that just chap the asses of the censor-happy countries that insist on ruining artist's works! LOL

Yeah some are WAYY too censored. Once I read one where even the nipples were censored!! THE NIPPLES??! Why?? I mean I would maybe get if it were a girl but it was yaoi! Like, men show their nipples all the time no problem why would you censor the nipples?? And don't even get me started when they censored their mouths when they were kissing! Wasn't only when they were making out but even when it was just like a quick peck?! But I still read it because I didn't know about mangago and simmilar sites back then and was desperate... (￣∇￣")

the black and white stuff is difficult to decensor because you have to match dot patterns, but now we have more manhwa, those that are in color are much easier.
