Chapter 1 made it seem like he’s in love with his best friend but I think he might just be reliant on him cause he’s the one that’s always been by his side and it’s already established that he’s scared of people leaving him so he’s most likely just doesn’t want his best friend to prioritise his girlfriend over him.
Not gonna lie this could have been a story of the girl helping him realise his feelings and help them get together but he ends up falling in love with her (but that’s just me thinking too much lol)
