I don’t think she’s a damsel in distress at all. I mean, I think anyone would not have been able to outrun a wolf or fend it off unless they had prior self defense or stamina training. After coming back, she’s just less gullible and naive

Oh, sorry. But, well, I still don’t believe she’s a damsel in distress. Her reaction was totally normal, I probably would have done the exact same thing. Of course she came back and learned that she shouldn’t yearn for their love or anything, but she would still be hurt by the duchess’ words and slaps. She couldn’t fight back either cos gee, even though she came back it doesn’t mean that she became a totally different person and could suddenly talk back to her mother of many years. She wanted to be alone, was embarrassed, hurt, upset, and just wanted to leave so the perfect place for isolation would be the forest. The fact that she didn’t fall sobbing while she ran to the forest surprises me because facing all that abuse and words, plus knowing that her own family was going to kill her would’ve totally justified her weak state. I would cry. Probably scream and curse at them as well. I would not have stayed in that suffocating tent and faced the duchess’ harsh words or walked leisurely around where there would be tons of nobles to see the mess I would be in. I don’t know, her reaction does not call for a ‘someone save me!’

what was she supposed to do, punch the wild animal? even if she is a bit "weak" in the beginning, that only leaves room for character development which always makes for a good story :)

And I'm not talking about the wolf scene.. it's just that, I thought she will be able to defend herself, I am disappointed how she was flustered with her father, and maybe because her mother slapped her and so on.. maybe I expect too much too that it fell. Maybe if this manhwa rise in the future.. probably i will read it again. Not now thou' (=・ω・=)

Well you are criticizing a decision, so you should have an alternative.

I see her only options as being:
A) remain -> keep getting abused (things might get worse)
B) go to someone else's tent -> she was shaken up and might seem off which would bring her "family" more shame
C) forest -> since they are camping out in the middle/next to it I would assume that's it's semi safe at the very least.
D)stand outside the tent -> seems weird and people might stat talking which will get her in trouble and most likely cause more abuse

To me C seems like the best choice.

She is in the middle of nowhere so I can't imagine there being other possible choices but maybe I'm missing something?

Seeing the family dynamic alone is enough. She ain't even seen as family, just a object that has to quietly perform its function, an actor that could be replaced.
