Can I say that I don't like how Spoon is trying to make the readers sympathize with Jennet? Just, why change the story so much from the original and make her more likeable? I get it that the author likes Jennet character, but what's the point?

Because they want her to be part of the family this time, so they need to "build" her relationship with Athy and Claude.

BTW, Is till think the novel was better

Yeah, she can have a family but just stay with the Kiel’s family. Don’t have to enter Athanasia’s family. Uhhhhhh don’t like her ( ̄へ ̄)
