Idk yall, i read like 120+ chapters of the novel and it still doesn't do anything to redeem oscar. depiction of his character in the manga differs from how he comes off in the novel for sure, but my impression was that oscar ignored aria + her mom because of class/status differences. he couldn't have been blind to the fact that aria was treated like air by mielle and the creepy bro, yet i didn't see him doing anything until aria goes after him. i get that he's a victim of his terrible sister, but even aria's mom has more personality and depth than he does
