Am I the only one who finds the misunderstanding weird?

Okay but who the hell calls their brother 'baby'.

On second thought, he might be older than her and Selena is calling him 오빠/oppa.

no the sister is older. maybe they have huge age gap. that's why his sister call him baby. you can't help but vieiw them as a child/baby because you're the one who take care of them... well from my exp.

idk where you get the idea of oppa because it stated multiple times 'older sister'

I got that idea because the meaning of oppa is varied and a lot of times can also mean how a girl calls an older guy who can be her boyfriend by that name. And I didnt catch the older sister part being emphasized, because as far as i know, the author went as far to imply she could be his gilrfriend by showing the clothes on the floor and stuff.

And otherwise, baby as in a lover would be jagi. The literal meaning of baby, aegi, would only be used to refer to actual babies or as a way of speaking but never to your significant other. If she wouldve called him baby brother; dongsaeng, there wouldnt be any mixups either. So that was the only logical thing left

I totally call my brothers baby, not in a weird way just like funny lingo?

No i absolutely get that, but i also keep in mind its being translated from a different language and in that context, it wouldnt be fitting nor does it make sense for it to be a mixup in that particular language
