You got the last story with the old men wrong. First off, the concept of the story was actually really sweet: same kanji surname but different pronunciations, same pronunciations first name but different kanji, same birthday, and then the premise of "something big happens every ten years". They met when they were 15. When they were 25, Mitsu had a shotgun wedding but his marriage ended by the time they were 27. At 35, Mitsu and Hiro had sex with each other for the first time. Because of these events, Hiro became accustomed to expecting something big every 10 years from Mitsu. When they met for their 45th birthday, Mitsu was wearing a ring and Hiro mistakenly assumed he was going to announce a remarriage to some woman. That's why Hiro didn't want to go all the way and was even confused when Mitsu tried to confess. But that's just a misunderstanding. Mitsu bought matching rings for the both of them to commemorate their 45th birthday. Thing is, he must have been so nervous 'cause he was thinking of it as a proposal for their 3rd decade together, that's why he forgot to give Hiro the other ring. There really weren't any woman/third party in the picture anymore. It was just a misunderstanding.

The uncle one was yuck and the ojisan one was stupid. What's with the sudden proposal, being sex friends and having a wife..confusing
