there are many democracies nowadays which differ from monarchies only in the smallest bits. certain "parties" and "votes" also exist in a monarchy. for example, in germany the chancellor is elected by the members of the parties in Bundestag/cabinet. that's the same priniciple on which the new king was elected after one had died (the lords decide - the majority wins)
Girl if you wish for monarchies even for one sec you need to check yourself lol a monarchy is even worse, you'll have the same goddamn family over the country FOREVER, and if they're bad, you're fucked, cause there's nothing you can actually do about it. At least you can get rid off Trump XD what's happening with voting in your country by the way?
I was half joking when I wrote that ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
a democracy is the best form of government when a country has many educated and good people who are not easily influenced
but if you have a country where all of a sudden many people become xenophobic and elect racists you have a problem Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
or you have a lot simple minded people then you get a Trump (/TДT)/
I want a system where only the most intelligent people are allowed to rule and they must take a psychological test to see whether they put human lives above money
There are many josei and straight romance mangas that also romanticize monarchies. It is a basic plot premise. It feeds into the “I wish I could be swept off my feet by a handsome prince” dream that it’s target audience craves. Also, though, the fact that they are showing the downside to it, with all the assassinations and all, shows that they really aren’t romanticizing it here at all. They are showing what has happened in a lot of Middle East countries that previously had monarchies. They suffered rebellions, death and eventual dictatorship by the leaders of the overthrowing factions. I wouldn’t want to be in that country right now.

Why is this manga artist romanticizing monarchies and painting democracy in a bad light....
Monarchies should be abolished. PERIOD.
