and? who the fuck cares about stockholm syndrome if it's a good story? You can't set that oppressive moral stupidity for a few minutes? This isn't a "set an example for all the world to see." It's a story to read for pleasure

if you want to enjoy this, suspend your disbelief. If you want to bitch in a comment section, please carry on. No problem. LOL I think the author gave enough reasons to cover your issues, but this is fiction. There's bound to be flaws.
For one thing, these authors are under tremendous pressure to crank this stuff out. Even in the best novels, people can often point out flaws. It's fun to find those flaws, but it's not fun if you can't get your head into the story in spite of the flaws.
