The rape in this story is a clearcut. It's the first time I've seen such an unquestionable, no doubt, rape in a yaoi story. It's a pretty horrific scene that I found hard to read through the first time.
A discussion contrasting it against other, more questionable rape stories: is it rape or not, consensual or nonconsensual, would have been interesting. It seems it's impossible to even talk about it here. It's too bad that minds are so closed that all you need to see is the word rape to set you off. People only comment to spit out their distaste for a story they probably only half-read. There's a billion condemning remarks, and anyone who looks at the comments is likely to drop its rating and write it off.

I think the author emphasized things that shouldn't have been and glossed over the parts that would have made the rape scene easier to get through, such as that there was in fact both preparation and lubrication provided by the seme. Most people don't remember that. I'm only saying that, since it's a story that is bound to end happily, I think the author could have made that scene easier to get through. I doubt the effect was as rough as she intended.

Discussion is impossible. To try is to bring down an enormous amount of unwarranted heat on someone who only wants to discuss a story as in any other comment section.

For the rest of the story after the initial rape, there are lots of funny, cute situations, the details of which are obscured by the overhanging blackmail. Most people miss those details. imo the story is flawed in that it puts emphasis in all the wrong places. That, too, might have been an interesting discussion if any but a few of you had any objectivity to offer
