I still don’t understand why her mother won’t let her have a tea party????

She wants complete control over her daughter, having a tea party means that she's interacting and integrating in society, if she have friends then with those friends she will most likely meet a man, as a narcissist, entitled and controlling mother, the mother will not accept the fact that her daughter is making her way through society.
