I really hate this "I will protect you so you don't need to know anything" concept. I truly believe that, If you're in a relationship, you need to trust your partner, but you also need to be honest and open to conversation. The thing I hate the most in male leads is that they always think that doing things behind the backs of their partners is the right thing to do, like they're weak minded and useless, so the boss of the relationship need to do EVERYTHING and save the poor lover. You can't say you love them and are doing it for their best if you choose lying instead of telling the truth and being honest.
