I actually like the idea of classical soul swap. But the recurring theme of 'fated ones' and 'destined to be each other' is not really compelling, at least for my part. Because I always believe that is in our hands to change our destiny. We are the driver of our life and whatever we do, it is actually our own decisions. Not the fault of our stars. Our inherent nature to evolve, seek and learn is what pushes to make difference. If you are going to look at Raeliana's perspective (inside Beatrice's body), I actually understand her reason of how she feels being the extra on whole story. Surely, if you realize that you will die soon, by the hands of your fiance (who only see you as meek girl) I think most of us would agree that we need to change our destiny. Driven by frustration and anger, she resorted to black magic. But what makes Raeliana's wish to become the protagonist have the opposite: she became the main antagonist. Compounded by her misguided decisions, her role become antagonistic. What she did is actually wrong and unjustifiable. And her bitchy attitude will become her own defeat. It is a shame that all of her perilous journey with growing pains under trying times, to get away from her predestined life are futile. I hope that the author will also show what are Raeliana's feelings and decisions before and after her ultimate downfall. I hope the author will show some side stories about Raeliana's situation before the soul-switching.
