How do you properly pronounce yaoi? Is it ya-wee or ya-oy?

I've always avoid saying it and just say boy's love (tho there's hardly any situation for me to use it) since I don't know how the correct pronunciation of it lol ;<

How I pronounce stuff:

Yaoi - Yao-wee

Uke - Yoo-kee

Seme - S[air]-mee

i know it's supposed to be yao-wee but i say ya-oy because it's how things are done from where i am lol
