The ending was nothing but fan service. The manga ended at 698 for me. Honestly, I always want to believe that Kishimoto had the series planned from the start, and I mean the whole thing. I just think that he let the fans ideas, get to him. And by fans, I mean screaming, annoying, squealing Otaku's crying "Sasusaku, Naruhina". And no, I'm not a Sasunaru shipper, I just...I don't know. I don't feel like this is how it was supposed to end. I hate to think that he had an original solid ending planned but strayed away from it because of some fans that had no sense of character development, or respsect for the way the plot was going. I started reading/watching this in second grade, and now I'm going off to college in less than a year. I really liked it at the beginning, it was just so amazing, but as time progressed it just seemed...to lose what it had. I don't by any means, mean to insult Kishimoto because he is amazing but I wish he told all those annoying fans to "fuck off, shits going to be how I planned it". I mean, it just stopped making sense, completely! The fan ships at the end...I can't even. At least it's not like Bobobobobo....all good things have to come to an end I guess. Some earlier than others. I'm just glad that I stuck with it until the end. The ideas and morality lessons were just outstanding and really helped me and my friends growing up. To just say I hate it would be like forgetting part of my childhood because I mean, we as kids grew up with this, Naruto brought us together.... I'm just a little upset that's all.
