Student A (school romance/action comedy, easily a favourite back then)
Kaichou wa Maid-sama (not too old school, like 2010-ish but I personally loved it)
The Wallflower (gothic but it’s hilarious)
Skip Beat (pretty good, but it’s long AF the manga’s still ongoing even now it’s mind blowing)
Honourable mention: Kaleido Star (not a shoujo but it’s so frickin aspirational with a female MC but shounen vibes, give it a whirl if you’ve got time)
