Oh ya that totally makes sense. I was about to comment, what about those people where they care about their families, like me. I wouldnt want to leave my family, but with his past. Where his mom struggled and died, then that makes a plausible reason.
II think Koichi will choose to stay since he's fallin in love with Caius and since Koichi feels so guilt about his mom, if it means that he never existed it means that his mom would never go through the pain she went through or dying from overworking.
