This author never disappoints. It may have a touch of yaoi logic, ofcourse, but it's nothing compared to the nonsense you have today. Rape is called rape, and VD was even brought up. The whole "uke and seme" roles aren't there, or at least not to the extent you have nowadays... and it has a plot, a plot in yaoi wow. Okay it may not be the most historically accurate, it is fiction at the end of the day, but it has the right amount of tension, backstories and criticism of class structures to make it a pleasing read for a french revoloution manga. To think a yaoi discussing philosophers and literacy greats... plus the infamous marquis de sod whose "Justine" mirrors the libertine wife, who at the very least was free and equal even if she was selfish.
